Navigating Grief
Dec 17, 2023I understand that these times are challenging for all of us. The weight of the world can feel overwhelming, and many are experiencing profound suffering. It is important to acknowledge this heaviness and embrace the grief that often washes over us. Grief is not confined to the loss of a loved one; it extends to mourning what once was, what could have been, and the collective pain we have endured as a global community.
Grief is a natural response to loss and pain, and it is an emotion that deserves our kindness, compassion, and understanding.
As many of you are aware, I have embarked on my own journey through grief after my near-death experience. This journey does not follow a linear path. Instead, grief often leads us through a profound journey, navigating various emotional landscapes.
Initially, we encounter Denial, a shield that veils us from the full weight of our loss. Yet, as we journey forward, Anger emerges, as we question why such pain has touched our lives. We then find ourselves in the realm of Bargaining, where secret pacts are made, and the yearning to turn back time lingers. Soon, Depression descends, and we must face our sadness and emptiness. Ultimately, we arrive at Acceptance, not as a declaration of being "over it," but as a path to move forward, embracing the new landscape of our lives.
This journey, akin to navigating stormy seas, reveals the remarkable strength and resilience of the human spirit.
